When I heard a few years ago that Kurt Russell did a Christmas movie, I was extremely disappointed to find out that it was not called "A Snake Plissken Christmas"

These are good 4K deals. I wish they had more than the 8 or 9. Note that this has all formats contained in DVD size packaging. I bought Hunt for Red October and Beverly Hills Cop III a while back and moved them into extra blu-ray or 4k cases I had.

are the versions different? Just wonderign the appeal of havign it on all the formats? I know some movies 4K conversion didn't go so well.

Thanks for this info. I built a bookshelf that holds blu-ray only, the shelves are not tall enough for DVD cases.

These versions are the same as if you bought the standalone 4K, you just get the Blu-ray & dvd (and sometimes digital) with it. All of these have pretty good transfers. Only downside is the DVD-size case not matching your other 4K and Blu-ray size cases (these are taller). Many of us believe that these were an experiment to see if they could get dvd purchasers to upgrade to Blu-ray or 4K but no one seems to know for sure why they did these or if they'll do more.

So I'm a big fan of Escape from New York but I don't remember Escape from LA at all. Do most folks enjoy both about the same?

I loved Cloverfield and how it was shot. It looked realistic and live. It's great in 4K HDR.

I liked New York way better myself. LA felt like a cheap re-hash, but still an enjoyable watch.

New York is widely considered the better one, and it's not close. Still, more plisken. Go for it.

I honestly think they were satirizing sequels with a very similar plot to the first.

To this day, Cloverfield is the only movie to ever make me feel sick. I'm not susceptible to motion sickness, but the camera movement was so terrible that I remember my head spinning and wanting to throw up and eventually just laying down for a few hours.
Anyone who hasn't seen Cloverfield who sometimes gets motion sickness should avoid the movie at all cost.
