I have a silver burst ST-2. It's a decent guitar. The neck is smooth and playable, with a satin finish on the back. The action was a little high when it arrived, but the included allen wrench fixed that in short order. The tuners hold tune. The pickups sound like Strat pickups. The silver burst finish is fantastic.
These are fine choices for a budget guitar, or as a mod platform.
