I would recommend starting with the basic 3 pack they have put together (Model# 48-22-8401, but you may be able to get a deal with the buy more event) plus adding the 10" tool box (ammo can) and a tool bag or tote (10" or 15" will let you sit these side-by-side with the ammo can). This is my standard setup and has served me well.
I also have the drawer style which has it's own purpose (but not where I'd start).
I use one of the deep organizers as an electrician load out and another one for all my screws.

Rolling toolbox(303005865), Large portable toolbox(303005621), and 3 Drawer(315059793) come out to $407.97-$150=$257.97 Which is about as cheap as these items will get, unless BF this year beats last year's prices. Save more using Chase 5% using PP.

I can't recommend this system as a mechanics toolbox. The drawers are just too shallow, and generally too small. I have all packouts you can possibly buy, the rest of the system is great

Not bad by any means but given how close we are to Black Friday and since this deal runs for a while I would say wait and see if there's a cheaper bundle of the items you're looking for. For some knowing they missed out on a pricing error will sour the whole deal but the deal itself is okay with out (has been cheaper though so depends on timeline of your needs).

Thanks. I did get one order filed with the deal (3 boxes) but I need a few more things for a new setup. I'll probably just wait as I'm not in dire need. Thanks for the advice!

I put in 2 orders of the drawer with the storage Case

The storage case got canceled due to not in stock

But the 2 drawers are still processing

I was able to get the deal for the rolling base, toolbox and 3 drawers. Played around with it for a bit and I'm not a fan of how everything locks/unlocks.

I have the DeWalt Toughsystem 2 and it's a lot more intuitive. Getting to toolbox to slide off with the hole release on the Packout is a pain. I'm going to give it to my friend as a Christmas gift since he likes the system.

Ordered the items from what the OP posted

Ordered it 2 times

HD cancels the storage shelf for both orders and shipped out both drawers

4 total since I ordered twice

Yesterday and today received all 4 shelf tool box plus the storage cases that are still showing canceled

I think my deal got slicker at $200 for the both orders since they didn't charge me for the storage cases

There was a glitch on HD app and website for this deal 2 days ago. If you buy $400 worth of these tool boxes you will get $300 discount. I think they already fixed it.

What happens if you buy several items to get the discount but decided to return just one of the items? Would the refund for that item be prorated and you get to keep the prorated discount on the other items you keep, or would you lose the entire discount?

The receipt will show the refund value of each piece that you would receive if returned.
