There's a couple of big packs to get a bundle of the original characters, but licensed DLC is always going to be individually sold (So like Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Chucky, Xenomorph, etc)
Many have tried to copy the asymmetrical team horror style but none have seen the success/popularity as DBD. It's not necessarily child friendly as there is an above average amount of blood, gore, violence.
At it's core, the game is fairly simple. But if you are just getting into it, I'd suggest you start out as killer.
That's my short response on the deal.
If you want rambling, you may optionally continue reading!
As a killer main, I can attest that the game offers a lot of freedom and flexibility in playstyle. Each killer is unique, with distinct abilities that set them apart. In contrast, survivors lack special abilities and are essentially the same, despite their varied appearances. While survivors do have different heights and screams, their base move speed is uniform and they don't possess any unique abilities.
That being said, survivors can still have different playstyles, but it's more a matter of preference and cosmetic choice rather than actual gameplay differences. Killers, on the other hand, have a range of move speeds, from fast to slow, and possess special abilities like spitting, throwing, vomiting, teleporting, and area-of-effect electrocution. Additionally, each killer has exclusive add-ons that further differentiate them from one another.
Perks are the one area where both killers and survivors have some customization options, but even these can be shared across characters, reducing the uniqueness of individual survivors. Overall, the killer role offers more depth and variety in terms of gameplay, while survivors are more about aesthetics and personal preference.
Also know that there is an ENCLYCLOPEDIA of unwritten "social norms" in the game; some would call them rules, but I am trying to keep my Killer sided viewpoint impartial. Just know that survivors will expect you to magically know them, but if you will take some unasked for advice; treat them as optional guidelines and play however YOU wish to play. Including creating your own guidelines as you see fit!
I understand that last paragraph was vague because the obvious question is, "what social norms?" Unfortunately, my neutral approach and tone would change if I start talking about the topic. It would turn into a madman's rant that would be better left on BHVR's own forum and not here.
It's my intention to share information so fellow deal finders are happy with the money they spend, and can make an informed decision. So. Good deal, solid unique game, play killer when starting.
