Do people agree the classic black Denali is the best one? It doesn't seem to be ever on sale online? Seems to be $180 except like here... but this is a strange color?

But I recall wearing both of those was warm enough even when it was really cold and snowing? I wore that years ago when it was very popular.
Now there seems to be a retro fleece or no retro? The Denali 2?
Do people wear this and zip it in with the mountain light jacket or parka and it's warm enough even if it's really cold and freezing? I remember when I wore a mountain light parka with the denali zipped in many years ago, it was warm but don't recall if it was really warm when is freezing.
I just received the Denali 2, and while nice, it is definitely more breathable/lighter than the old school Polartec fleece model.
The older model was known to last 10+ years, and the newer model requires more care, or lighter use to last that long IMO.
The older model also has ventilation openings at the arm pits to allow for air flow, given that it was a denser, non breathable wind breaker and sweater in one. It could work a stand alone jacket, while the new one requires an outer layer for wind.
So it's a trade off - soft, breathable, modern fit (Retro Denali) vs durability, wind resistance, longevity, and greater outdoor utility (Older Denali)
