I have a ring doorbell and discontinued the sub. Now I have no way to record, and it's becoming a dumbbell.

I misunderstood the "Free 12-Second Video Recordings". I thought that was for SD card recordings. I assume there won't be any limitations on recording on a SD card.
I also have a blink doorbell. On that doorbell, the recordings for motion events are always late to start. I only get to see the backs of delivery workers. 🤣

The good:
Pop in an SD card and it will record 24/7. You will get event notifications without a subscription but they are limited to basically "hey there is movement". With a sub it will determine if it is a person, pet, package, car, ect . . . You can also set up motion zones to limit alerts.
The bad:
There is no security screw. Someone can walk up grab it, pull up, and remove it.
The SD card is on the side. Someone can open the side rubber flap and pop out the SD card. I don't think this will ever happen but it could and it is a strange oversight.
This WILL NOT work with the wyze wireless chime. If you do not want it connected to your doorbell or you can't hear your doorbell in parts of your house where you would want the wireless chime you must get the wyze cam OG and enable the cam as doorbell feature.
