The kit comes with an M12 4.0 battery and is marked down to $160 (already a good deal) but you can add the free M12 2.5 battery and return it to get the price for the grinder and battery to $106.
If you don't like "The Hack" then you would still get a solid deal at $160 for the grinder and 4.0 battery.

Do you have to show the receipt? Do they give the whole 79$ back for the battery?
No, it's the "hack" deal where they discount each item separately to get you to the total. For this, the receipt shows $106 for the tool/battery combo and $54 for the add-on battery. They will then refund you the $54. If you add the deal to your cart, it'll show you the reduced prices for each item.
I've never used one, heck even have one for my air compressor, although after watching the promo video on the product I definitely can use this in place of the wire wheels

I'm looking for a reason to get this, but I don't do a lot of automotive stuff. What other use cases do you have for it?
Useful for auto body and similar where a full-sized angle grinder cannot fit easily. Generally helpful in the rust belt for cutting off things like sway bar end links when they're all rusted to bits.
I did a similar return process. I believe I just initiated a chat online and they were able to remove the item and refund the difference. Save you a trip to the store.

Metal working comes to mind. That's really where die grinders shine. You ca get into tight spaces with a sanding pad, cut off wheel, wire wheel, burr, or other 1/4" shank tools.
I'm sure a woodworker would also find applications for it.
This would be a really nice addition to my shop, and the pricing is awesome. Wish I had more in the old checking account right now.

Do you find yourself needing a small right angle grinder much? If not, you probably don't need this. I use my (air grinder) on automotive stuff, I've never used it on any of my other hobbies except metal work a handful of times when I need to clean a weld and can't get my normal 4.5" grinder in somewhere.

I used it a couple of months ago to cut a piece of my siding while installing a hose reel. I also used it to sand hard-to-reach areas and corners on my deck. It's been helpful with my car project for cutting metal and sanding. With all the different attachments available, I find plenty of ways to put it to use. However, the battery doesn't last long, so I recommend getting extras.
Been waiting for this for a long time - this is an amazing tool for doing surface prep for bodywork and welding, I have my air die grinder but looking forward to a more portable option that I don't have to fire up the compressor for. Slick deal for sure!
