This is on par with a 27" 1440p monitor. No, I'm not being dumb or silly. Both a 27" 16:9 display and a 34" 21:9 at 1440p are around 109 PPI (pixels per inch). Because of this, both should appear to have similar visual qualities.

Here's a PPI chart I made for myself a while ago.
16:9

22" WSXGA+ (1680x1050) is 90.05 ppi
22" FullHD (1920x1080) is 100.13 ppi
24" FullHD (1920x1080) is 91.79 ppi
27" FullHD (1920x1080) is 81.59 ppi
27" WQHD (2560x1440) is 108.79 ppi
32" WQHD (2560x1440) is 91.79 ppi
32" UHD (3840x2160) is 137.68 ppi
37" UHD (3840x2160) is 119.08 ppi
40" UHD (3840x2160) is 110.15 ppi
43" UHD (3840x2160) is 102.46 ppi
47" UHD (3840x2160) is 93.74 ppi

21:9

29" UW-FHD (2560x1080) is 95.81 ppi
34" UW-FHD (2560x1080) is 81.72 ppi
34" UW-QHD (3440x1440) is 109.68 ppi

Been monitoring the forums for a monitor deal for a while now (no pun intended) and I went for this one!
To make a slick deal even slicker, you can obtain a 5% coupon code through AAA (https://discounts.aaa.com/) or the Perkspot employee discount program (https://perkspot.com). However, the coupon codes are not stackable (I tried). Pay by Paypal for the Chase Freedom 5% bonus reward.

Now try to resist!

How does this compare to the LG 34" that was posted at Walmart for $329 a few weeks back.

LG 34" UltraGear Quad HD 3440 x 1440 2K 160Hz (OC) 1ms 2xHDMI DisplayPort Radeon FreeSync 2 NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible USB 3.0 Hub Nano IPS Curved Gaming Monitor - 34GN850-B

Not looking for gaming but for stock trading... Is this a good monitor?
Don't buy it. You should get a flat monitor

I have the same question as well? I got the LG one and just received it yesterday. Use is for productivity/coding but in a bright room. Which is better?

I'd be in for one except for widescreen. I use my monitors for gaming first and there are AAA games that came out this year that still do not offer ultrawide support.

This is a decent price though for this.

Can we set up two vertical screens with this monitor? I'm looking to replace my two 15-inch monitors.

I thought that 27" is a sweet spot for 1440p and for higher sizes, such as this one, 4K is better. Of course I am only talking about productivity and not gaming, which is a completely different perspective with refresh rates etc. However looks like this is getting traction because of the price.

hmmm. The RTINGS review doesn't look so hot for this monitor... someone change my mind please.
It's a very confusing review. The specs align pretty closely with my Gigabyte but they rated my gigabyte higher. I personally wouldn't go off their ratings but their tested specs.

1440p is perfect for this. Remember. This is an ultrawide. Which means it's the same height as a 27 inch normal ratio. Just think of this as the same dpi as a 27 inch monitor
