I know some fisherman that will fish with only fluorocarbon, but you will need way more than 25yards to fill your reel.
If you were using this for freshwater fish, it will work great.
If you are using it for saltwater fishing where there are bigger fishes, sharks, rays then 12lb may not be enough.
