I wonder if you got a lemon? Bitnet Built [youtube.com] compared 7 brad nailers, including Milwaukee, and this one (P321) came out on top. And the Ryobi was his own personal nailer that he'd been using for 2½ years, which speaks well of its quality.
I hear he's into wood
Few drops of machine oil solves that problem. I had the same issue initially, but once it was properly lubricated, it worked fine.

Is this really necessary if you already have a 16 ga cordless?

Don't buy this. I had this and about 1/2 of the time the nail would not drive all the way in. Also fails to activate very frequently even though it's not jammed. Ended up buying the brushless version, which works much more reliably.

Thanks for the info. The brushless version is currently $189, with or without a battery. That's still a better deal than a $99 paperweight though.

Hey all, just logged in to say I have the brushless version of this tool and it works excellent 98% of the time. It was infinitely useful when replacing all of the baseboards and casings for a job. I will not miss having a loud compressor running all day and having to deal with a hose that seemingly wants to end up in a tangle!

Would recommend using the large 4Ah battery with this. Either my standard battery is going bad or just didn't have enough power to actuate the nailer. Hope this helps someone!
