I wonder if you got a lemon? Bitnet Built [youtube.com] compared 7 brad nailers, including Milwaukee, and this one (P321) came out on top. And the Ryobi was his own personal nailer that he'd been using for 2½ years, which speaks well of its quality.

Few drops of machine oil solves that problem. I had the same issue initially, but once it was properly lubricated, it worked fine.

Come on Dewalt, have a Brad nailer deal too. I don't want to buy so many different batteries. Or I need a cheap pneumatic gun deal.

I have this and it's one of those "must have" tools. I use to to repair my mailbox, secure moulding to the wall, reinforce panelling, and a bunch of other repairs that would have been a hassle otherwise.

An 18 inch is probably the 'go to' tool when it comes to nailers. That said I'd wait for the brushless version to go on sale again

Don't buy this. I had this and about 1/2 of the time the nail would not drive all the way in. Also fails to activate very frequently even though it's not jammed. Ended up buying the brushless version, which works much more reliably.

Hmm that thought never occurred to me but you're right, maybe mine was defective. I thought it just sucked and wondered how anyone could use such a POS tool.

I bought the Metabo NT50AE2M refurb (pneumatic brad) for 24.99 from Big Sky Tool (authorized Hitachi/Metabo dealer) in March. Not sure what their shipping is like but I'm sure it's not 75$ lol

Here's the link: https://www.bigskytool.com/Metabo..._i320.aspx

Alternatively, they have a Dewalt Pneumatic Brad Reconditioned (refurb) for $96.75

I have the same problem, my friend has one and has the same problem. This is quite an impressive QC issue.

Just adding that I'm also on the same boat. I've had the same problem as expressed by other users. I returned the original unit and bought a second unit only to have the same problem a second time around. Unfortunately I let the returned window close and I'm now stuck with a dud

I have this and love it. I have put wood paneling up in an entire cabin with this and had very minor issues from time to time and never had an issue with power. Also this thing seems to be very efficient in its battery use.

Did you adjust both the depth adjustment and the air adjustment? I had the same issue with my 16 ga version until I realized I had totally overlooked the air adjustment. It was on the lowest setting. haha. A good reminder to RTFM.

Depends entirely on the type of work you're looking to do.

Have both this and the similar stapler.

I use the stapler far more. For furniture making, the brad nailer is better. Everything else, I prefer the stapler for it's greater holding power. Use it for a lot of fence applications, building chicken coops and other small structures.

These can be balky on occassion, but adjustments, keeping it clean, using a high capacity battery, usually does the trick.

Note that that video relates to the older P320, not the newer P321 in this deal.

Na the ryobi one is just really inconsistent.

I have both it and the milwakuee and it's not even a fair comparison. If you want a consistent nail in a variety of woods and depths (and angles...) then the milwaukee takes is easily.

if you just want to put some nails rambo style straight down into a 2x4 then any gun will do.

That review is the only one i've seen that puts any gun over the m18, so i'd question if he's the one that got a lemon or if it's just user error.
