Kinda pricey for these features over the 800. Here's a summary of key differences from prudentreviews dot com:

Bosch 800 vs. Benchmark: Key Takeaways

Noise Level: The Bosch 800 series operates at a low 42 dB noise level, while the Benchmark series reduces this even further to 40 dB.

EasyGlide Rack System: Both include the EasyGlide Rack system for smooth loading, but the Benchmark series features premium ball bearings for a smoother glide.

Flexible Tines: Both series feature adjustable FlexSpace Tines, but the 800 series has these on the front half of the lower rack, while the Benchmark series features them throughout the lower rack.

Water Softener: All Benchmark series models include a built-in water softener. Only select 800 series dishwashers have this feature.

Sizes: 800 series dishwashers are available in 24 and 17 ¾ inch sizes. All Benchmark series dishwashers are 24 inches wide.

Indicator Light: The 800 series uses a red dot as an indicator light, while the Benchmark series also displays the time remaining for the dishwasher cycle.

Interior Lights: The Benchmark series includes interior lights for easy loading in dim conditions, a feature the 800 series lacks.

Drying System: While all 800 series models feature CrystalDry, only three higher-end Benchmark models include it, with the rest using PureDry.

Price: The Bosch 800 series falls within a more economical price range ($1,099 to $1,499), whereas the Benchmark series, with its superior features, commands a higher price ($1,799 to $2,299).

Overall, I'd stick with a 800 if you can find one on sale. The stuff you care about is crystal dry which is in the 800 series. The 40 to 42db noise from the 800 series isn't that much louder than the 38 to 40db rating of the benchmark series. 42db is still freaking quiet, waaay quieter than the builders grade stuff you see installed in rentals. I'm a little disappointed that Bosch is going the KitchenAid route and trying to justify an extra 500 to 800 bucks for some lights, tines, and ball bearing glides.

The same way they justify spending $80k on a BMW when my Camry is still running fine after 15 years.

I saw they described "Patented CrystalDry Technology" so I think this Benchmark model has Crystal Dry feature?
I've had several dishwashers in my home and none of them lasted or cleaned as well as my Bosch. I don't have the expensive model either. It's now 6 years old and runs like a champ.

I'm tired of reading the comments. I've got a four year old 800 series P pocket handle dishwasher. Family of five. NEVER (knock on wood) had one single problem.

Oh, I also have been selling Bosch dishwashers for 15+ years. Before they had the "crystal dry" or even the "auto air," the SUCKED at drying. If you want a d/w that WORKS, has a water softener, has a light inside (you would be shocked at how handy that would be...wish mine had it) and has the crystal dry.....and have the money, BUY IT. Great phookin d/w.

I just picked up the bosch 800 from bestbuy last week and paid $987.43 including tax and picked up from a best buy distribution center (not a store) and saved $30.00. I plan to clean it regularly with dishwasher clkeaning tabs and I have some finish dishwasher cleaning bottles too. I don't think this expensive mode has that much more going for it than the 800 model than the PrecisionWash plus Power Control Spray Arm?
the 800 has the same things below:
  • 24"
  • Ultra Quiet 44 dBa louder than 38 dba
  • Full Stainless Steel Tub
  • Flexible 3rd Rack Holds Large Cutlery
  • Patented CrystalDry Technology
  • 2 Year Additional Warranty

I'm debating spending $250 more for this Benchmark model instead of 800 model. Just want to make sure the Benchmark has CrytalDry technology.

This happened to me. Anytime the dishwasher door was open it smelled like something had died in the kitchen. This is a well known issue that has not been fixed and now I have a thousand dollar paper weight in my basement. As always, not every single unit has this but many do and mine definitely did. Bought it at the height of the pandemic when I was "lucky" to get it.

Bought KitchenAid and couldn't be happier. Prodry. Stainless steel spray arms. Three sets of spray arms so that the third rack has it's own spray arms. Superior in every way to the Bosch I had.
Did you remove the 2 filters and clean them? If not, that'd be a problem.

What world are we living in whereby a $1400 dishwasher with questionable reliability is considered a slickdeal? Oh my, how times have changed! This post would've gotten eviscerated on fatwallet 😂
Man they let any on here now a days. For the noob, "it's not how much you spend , it how much you save!!"

At this price point, someone please tell me you don't have to scrub a single dish and little nano robots come out and do the cleaning? I'd go with a Whirlpool… highly rated and great value.
The main benefit it for the jones, ooh look my Bosch lights up when open… yours doesn't. And look at that projector on the floor telling me it's done.

It for the near luxury homes that can't afford the themadors or subzeros.

Read consumer reports 800 and benchmark perf is identical.

I don't know what to tell you, but Consumer Reports rated the cheapest Bosch as the highest, probably because of the price difference between models. My store was out of the recommended one so I got the one a step up. Mine doesn't have the air blower and my stuff gets dry. I've never had a problem with that.

The Bosch 800 that I replaced my 10 year old Maytag with runs with less water, less electricity, cleans the dishes a hell of a lot cleaner than the old Maytag and doesn't sound like a clothes dryer with a pair of sneakers in it while it's running.

But technically it was 'fine' too.
I got the Bosch 800 deal from Lowe's (870.11 after tax), installed it in 45 minutes including unboxing BTW, to replace the 20 year old GE Profile. The old washer was still doing a good job with it's new eBay wheels and silverware basket but this new Bosch is very nice, and the wife thinks so too!!! Could've gotten away with the Profile for a bunch more years, but the uptick in wifely thanks has made the expense worth!

This must be outdated because my 800 has most of those features shown for Benchmark..

I actually have had the opposite experience and returned an 800 series to exchange it for a KitchenAid with their pro drying option. I would have been happy with the Bosch if I got a 500 series with the "active air" where it pops the door open to circulate the air outside. I'm on well water and it can start to get real musty if the dishwasher is not dry, so it was disappointing that this didn't work out for us. It definitely cleaned REALLY well though and things were very shiny and clean. Just wanted to give me 2 cents.
Just a PSA about the Bosch "Auto Air" feature where the door pops open: it actually adds almost an hour to the already long cycles (3 hours for an auto wash and 2 hours for a speed wash) because Bosch claims popping open the door too early would damage your cabinets with the hot steam.

I have one of those and an 800 series Crystal Dry and would choose the Crystal Dry every time. Note that Crystal Dry absolutely relies on the wash water getting super hot, if I forget to pre run the hot water, I notice significantly worse drying performance.

There's no argument that dishwashers with an electric heating element dry things better, but they also consume a lot more electricity and even risk damaging plastics and delicates.

The Bosches are super nice in that basically anything that can withstand your hot tap water are effectively dishwasher safe both on the top and bottom racks.

I've had 3 in our 2 houses for 10+ years and never had one break.
