booster pack wise, not a good deal. you're really paying for the figurine and 3 promo cards it comes with. Its a cool collector's item regardless though.

Seems like a great way to get rid of money. Me, I hate money, and I try to pawn it off whenever I can. Getting packs of cards like this is a great way for me to do that. Is there a nasty wave of regret that comes washing over me afterwards? sure! but i'm free of money and now i can gamble—uh, open up packs to see what i got—and it's glorious
I'm pretty behind when it comes to Pokemon cards but is this actually a good deal at $6/pack?
From what I remember the general rule is to aim for below $4 per pack.
i think the quick math is $4.50/pack MSR (10 packs = $45) so you're basically paying MSRP + 13 for the figure. if you want the figure and are going to buy the packs anyways, it's ok. but the figure is where the money is.
Not a good deal unless you're really after the card holder, then it's alright
A single sleeved booster is 4.99. If you get a booster bundle of 6packs it's ~4.50. If you get a booster box of 36 packs it's ~3.60, but you're spending $130 and not all sets are available in this format.
ETB are also 50 now, with 9 packs. Which is kinda 5.50 per pack unless you highly value the plastic dice and sleeves it comes with.
In the eyes of individual booster buyers, you're getting the pokemon company quality figure for less than 10 bucks. Which is cheaper than an amiibo or Funko pop.

my mistake I thought I hit reply on @Wal_Target 's comment.

I pre ordered 2 from GameStop, full price one to open one to keep sealed. The one I opened had absolutely nothing, Not even a regular Ex card. Sad to see these go on sale knowing I have one at home probably with some heavy hitters in it :/

Same logic would hold but now getting figure for $14
