This popped up this morning on my BCE card. Since this is a rewards app, this would be free money on top of free money, as far as I can tell.

This was a surprise to me, having found Pepper pretty recently and had a lot of luck using it especially for the frequent Amazon discounts....in the 12x range. Never had an issue buying Amazon and immediately adding to my Amazon balance in the next step thru the app. This is just icing with an Amex Offer. Really enjoying the app.
PROTIP: Amazon Fresh is an Amazon GC. When you see, Amazon Fresh 12x....go for it!
Downloaded the app, made an account, added my amex card, app asking me for US identity documents. Opened help menu and deleted my account. App gone!
Be careful, I recently signed up for Pepper and purchased Airbnb gift cards for a recent trip. Before the points deposited, I got an identity verification prompt in the app. I uploaded both my license and passport, and the verification process kept failing even though everything was valid. After 3 attempts, they locked my account. It's been weeks and no one is responding to messages or calls. I have over $200+ worth of points in there.

Receive this one at least one card haven't checked the others. You do need to give a fair amount of info to them. And like Dosh and Upside apps they seem getting transaction info from your credit cards?
Aside from that, I did buy a $50 Amazon gift card. The preauth for the purchase is showing up as "Moocho" so we'll see if the AMEX offer kicks in. Got seven bucks back on the app towards next purchase tho.
So this app is basically a clickthrough where you buy GC then use them at stores rather than using credit direct? The incentive to do this is to earn Pepper points that can then be redeemed?

I am fairly active on a wide variety of different apps, but have not dipped my toes into the water with Pepper yet. I am waiting to see what the best signups are. If you follow him, DOC has a great write-up[doctorofcredit.com]on the service. (Mods, please delete if we are not allowed to link to his blog). Thanks!

I don't know if it was this post, but someone from Pepper just called and cleared up the issue. I may have entered a wrong date of birth when signing up. So just a heads up to provide accurate info if you do sign up.

Protip: If you use the signup code on the website make sure you do a purchase for $55 because when you use the bonus your purchase will drop to $50. Your spend must be $50 or more in a single purchase or you won't receive the Amex offer.

Amazon gift card code was immediately available upon purchase, and immediately was added to my Amazon account balance.
