I have a whole house water filter and softener. Will this help the discolored water I still experience?

Yeah probably will and also remove the salt that the softener adds to the water

I installed one of these (rebranded) and it tastes pretty close to distilled water to me. Its reverse osmosis though so it wastes some water

Oh, it wastes more than "some" water! It's probably 1:3-5 ratio, meaning for each gallon of purified water you waste 3 or more gallons of permeate.

I have the "HI" model of this. It is a 1:3 ratio. It performs very well and flows very well with the 3/8" tubing. High quality with all John Guest name brand connections. I am feeding it softened water at ~90 psi, before the pressure regulator (<60psi) for the house so it refills at closer to 120 GPD rate. The only difference between the HI and 90 is the 3/8 tubing and 3/8 carbon filter.

I wouldn't think the tubing size would really matter here. It's got to be the filters that ultimately are the bottleneck, right?
(I've installed a few RO systems like this, but that only means I can follow directions using pressure fittings)

No, I've tried 3 different RO systems. They wasted a LOT of water, and the water still tests poorly. I now use a distiller, and I fill the distiller from the RO system. The crud that is left in the distiller tank after a few runs is unbelievable.

My order from Amazon came today. Did they send me the wrong one? It says ROES PH75 on the unit and the instructions manual. Seems like a bait and switch. Did anyone else have this issue.? I called APEC customer service and they said amazon has to deal with it.

I have this system and we use it for our drinking water (not a system to filter an entire house) and it is fantastic. Using a tester it consistently produces a 16 on a scale of 0 to 600 so in the ideal drinking water zone. We have a LG refrigerator with a inline filter and it scores a 350...so dramatic differences between a simple single filter system and this RO system.

I used to have this and replace the filters twice. It was such a cumbersome job. I switched to tank less model and it waste ratio is 1:1, which is better than this traditional model which is usually about 3:1

The filter for tankless model cost a bit more but it's worth it since I only have to change once every year and two year for the three filters. It simply plug and pull out. Also it required to plug into the wall so the pressure coming out is stronger and continuous unlike the traditional model that will slow down the flow rates once the tank is half empty.

Installed this back in March of this year and it's been great! Total disolved solids test at <10 ppm consistiently when the city water that feeds it is >250. Install was realitively easy and have had zero problems/leaks.
