I guess returns are not accepted for these purchases unless there is some defect/ damage. Something to keep in mind. I learnt it the hard way
Points go 50% further, it's not 50% off. Here's an example of a $100 item:

10,000 points = $100
what amount of points (define as X) * 150% = 10,000?
1.5X = 10,000 --> X = 10,000/1.5 = 6,667
with 50% bonus, $100 = 6,667 points, a savings of 3,333 points (10,000 - 6,667)
3,333/10,000 = 33%, or a 33% savings

said another way:
normally $1 = 100 points, but with the 50% further $1 = 100/1.5 = 66 points
Old Price = 100 Points
New Price = 66 Points
Change = (New price - Old price) / Old Price = (66 - 100) / 100 = -33/100 = -33%
It's only when you have the Chase Reserve card when you received the 50% discount. Otherwise, if you have the "Preferred", you'll only received 20% discount instead of 25% as stated above!

I agree with this generally which is why I usually use mine on travel portal redemption or Hyatt stays. I don't care about business class. Even if I get a good redemption, I'm not willing to pay more than 25% or so more for international business.

That said, for many items this doesn't really work because there are no sales. For example the AirPods Pro are not worth $250. They're worth $190 which is the frequent sale price.
25% more for International Business? Are you sure you aren't missing a zero?

Because I don't think I know anyone who wouldn't pay $1001 vs $800 for 11 hour flight from LA to London round trip. The lounge, premium checkin, bag allowance and seat selection, fast track in LHR alone is almost worth the price...especially if there is a delay.

Don't buy, more available for others, go buy regular price There really nothing to worry, afraid chase won't send you the phone or afraid phone has problem? Apple Store is everywhere, you can exchange for another one if it's indeed a problem
the point is, the phone order isn't processed by the apple store. it's thru a 3rd party. that's why the fineprint in the chase portal says, short of defects or wrong product sent, you're SOL as far as refunds & exchanges.

It's actual sent from Apple distribution. I bought 4-5 times no problem. Brand new items, if there is a problem, Apple is there for you to exchange. I don't see how Chase would try to cut you off on this, the only issue would be it just takes longer for them to ship. If product is available right now then it would take them a week to process then ship. If product is backordered then it would take longer

At the end of the day, how to best use your point is a personal decision. Everybody has a different use case for it, but the most important thing is paying less cash for a product or service by using points. If you are someone who always wants to maximize the value per point, you probably churn as well, so get an INK every few months, have a P2, play the game.

Tempting deal, But I am not able to find any option for trade-in. Their UI is same as Apple's website except saying authorized dealer. Do they offer any trade-ins for older iPhone?

If you need the laptop then isn't it the same if you use travel or not? In the end you still have to spend. So if you don't spend the point, you go out and buy with regular cash, it's just spend point sooner or later

Different, apple macbook can be bought cheaper with discount, the price here is Apple price.

The point of any "deal" sites is for someone to look for ways to buy things below full price.
This deal is for people who want to burn their points without having to travel. It's fast and efficient but not the way to get the best value out of their points. (I'm not a self-proclaimed point expert)

One example: iPad Air 11 is $599 + tax on the Chase site, where it's on sale for $499 at Amazon, and I could even get it same day (with prime). Yes I do have to shell out cash to pay for it vs. just redeeming points, but I have better use for the points.
Yeah, I think it goes without saying you shouldn't be buying an Apple product that's on sale elsewhere for less. This deal only makes sense for new releases (e.g., iPhone 16 Pro) that can't really be found for less than full price.

Yes that meant to be funny, usually don't try to convince people to buy, tell them the opposite and they more likely to buy. Btw, if you can get discount elsewhere then good, go ahead, this is just another options

Great deal for those that have a lot of points and were going to buy a new Apple product at full price anyway. You get to keep the extra benefits like Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty when paying with points.

The self-proclaimed point experts are going to tell you that this is a terrible deal because you can get a better "value" booking travel with points. What they don't realize is not everyone is looking for a 4 cent pp redemption on a round trip business class flight to Zimbabwe.

Not to mention the odd hours and dates for such value

Where do you get apple gift cards 30% off? I've never seen that. Old black friday deals used to be around 20% off with Target, but last few years have only been 15%. I've never seen anything higher than 20%.
Is it Chase or Citi that make a big deal of their BF GC sales, then do a better sale on Cyber Monday, and everyone comes on here to complain, despite it having been the same sale several years in a row?

Anyone know the policy if the package is lost/stolen? Since it's from third party and chase states they're just the payment processor, sounds like it could be a headache…
