This is the worst type of post on this website, claiming something that can be proven with facts very easily but making every person that reads this 0/10 quality post do the work.

Don't worry, I did the work. Lowes has the energy guide provided (for most models from what I reviewed) so this is pretty easy. I'll limit my research to models in this size and I picked a cheap brand and a 'name' brand that seems to be midpoint, and a few high priced ones (with ENERGYGUIDE provided):

This model:
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...291696.pdf
218kWh

Hotpoint 4.9 cuft currently on sale for $169 from $239:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hotpoint...5014941855
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...778563.pdf
216kWh

GE 5.0 cuft regular price 339:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-Garag...5014006789
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...384508.pdf
218kWh

Avanti 5.0 regular $524:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Avanti-5...5014219465
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...537105.pdf
216kWh

Black and Decker 5.0 regular $405:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/BLACK-DE...5001749527
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...488230.pdf
196kWh

NewAir 5 sale $400 regular $450:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/NewAir-5...5014821817
https://pdf.lowes.com/productdocu...531275.pdf
215kWh

Lets take the biggest difference (218-196kWh) of 22kWh, and the larger difference in the ENERGYGUIDE labels of cost at 14 cents per kWh, and the current price of $109 for the Midea vs $405 of the Black and Decker with $296 to make up in electricity; it would take over 96 years of ownership
You have to sign in, then it will display "Member Deal: Extra $60 Off" when you scroll down
It's also more efficient than running a regular fridge, because every time you open a fridge door it dumps all the cold air out onto the ground and it has to run the compressor again.

It would probably be great for an off-grid tiny home or an RV as long as your arms are long enough

Huh, kinda cool to see a convertible to fridge mode in a chest freezer, I've only seen them in upright freezers. Might be useful for certain applications like homebrewers, etc.

Does anyone have this and can attest to how long these last? Planning to use it as extra fridge for the kids.

Thanks OP! In for one. I've been doing a lot more meal prepping lately and my small freezer portion of my fridge unit isn't cutting it.

I just got a similar size Thompson model this spring and it's been great!

My refrigerator freezer was only 5 cu. ft. and 25% of that was the icemaker setup (machine and tray), it was the only reason I'd considered getting a new refrigerator.

I'm never running out of room now, can take advantage of sales and stock up (so many things at Costco that I never bought on sale since I didn't have room), and I'm never running out of the things I always use.

It's just a baby! At only 35" tall, I don't think arm length would be much of an issue. Since the bottom of the box is insulated, it's probably close to a maximum reach of 32".

Wow! I'm glad I'm picking one up. Lowe's delivery fee is $79; I'm picking it up at the store that's only 6 miles from my home.

Signing into Lowe's Business Account (or MVPs Pro Rewards Program or whatever the eff they call it) seems to remove the "Member Deal: Extra $60.00 Off Offer is applied in cart." What a PITA.

Oh man, I'm about to move. If I was in the new house already, I'd jump on this deal.

Looks like it'll go to 50 degrees. I need it to store some big wine bottles that won't fit in a regular wine fridge
