Is there a thinkpad equivalent of small form factor or compact form factor PC? I have been 99% docking my machine so wondering SFF/compact is the way for me.

Not with this chip and they would go for 1k+ even if it did exist.

Yes, consider the Lenovo P3 Ultra [lenovo.com].
However, they come with the Intel 14th gen CPUs. Some people may want to avoid them even though they are the non-K series and Intel has pushed the microcode update.

Plenty of Mini PCs with the nearly identical 7740HS CPU setup on Amazon for around $500 floating around. Same GPU and CPU benchmarks are very close.

I assume "ThinkPad equivalent" means durable, high quality with good support.

In the past I would recommended NUCs without hesitation (they keep firmware/drivers up-to-date, provide 3-year warranty with very good support), especially if you don't care about Intel/AMD. Since they are taken over by ASUS, I can no longer make that recommendation, because ASUS is... ASUS.

There are many small PCs in the NUC form factor on Amazon, mostly from Chinese brands. Do your research, but don't expect products similar to those from Intel/Lenovo/Apple. That said, I have a Minisforum machine that has been working fine for me (after one replacement)

Now, if you are ok with Mac OS and can wait, keep an eye out for the M4 Mac Mini that probably will be released next week. With the rumors that they start with 16GB RAM, it could be a very viable option. Of course, not if you want the ability to upgrade/replace parts.

For people looking for Great performance , specs and screen with under 900$, This deal is definitely better than the other deal that was posted yesterday. That other deal while approaching 980$, had 64GB RAM along with much higher screen quality and resolution.

The batteries are the same size. Is it just the screen that makes the battery worse on that one?

Yes. The 120Hz OLED is going to drain the battery significantly more than a 60Hz IPS display.

Beware, does not support a SSD in the wwan port. I got one of the previous deals on a p14s and the idiots at Lenovo decided it's a good idea to filter what is supported in the second PCIe slot.

Lenovo has been restricting PCI devices for over 20 years. Its wild.

How is this Thinkpad P14s compared to the Slim 7 with Intel 155H? Lenovo Slim 7 (Cert. Refurb): 14" FHD+ OLED Touch, Intel Ultra 7 155H EVO, 32GB LPDDR5, 1TB SSD $649.00
