I'm a part of some lawn care forums . This sale is completely dependent on each store. I've seen pics of people getting for $5 a bag, 10$ a bag.

I picked up 4 years worth of pre emergent , weed and feed , and starter fert for $200 . Original retail was close to $2700.

My store had prices at %50 off and an additional %75 off at register. I spoke with the manager and he gave me %80 off for buying all but a couple bags of starter fert.

I bought 16 bags of starter
6 bags of weed n feed
6 bags of dimensions
6 bags of the crabgrass control ( prodiamine )

Lowes will no longer be carrying lesco , so try to get a better deal if you are buying most of what they have

I've attached some pics if people want to try and get a better deal in store .

Mine with the %75 off

A sign for 5$ a bag

The fescue freaks is my favorite. There are people in there that are beyond educated , plenty of professionals with 30-40 years experience. Science based answers when needed .

Nice. I picked up a couple of these bags last year around this time when they were discounted to either 50 or 75% off

They've been 50% off for at least a month around here. Reminds me I should stop in and see if they've dropped more

Awesome. Just be careful on this one because I went to load up on the cheap and was curious how long it can be stored to remain effective and sources I saw (e.g. below) said up to 2 years. I did see an up to 3 years, but most said up to 2 years.

FYI for others too.

Yes that's why I only got what I got 😂 . But from very knowledgeable people in the forums (most with degrees and phds in this field ) I should be fine as long as I keep it dry and it doesn't get too hot ( which it won't ) . Appreciate the looking out though !

(Disregard - i see it's already mentioned above)
Don't they have shelf life? Are they still effective after a couple of years in storage?

Excellent deal, grabbed a few bags. Looks like Austin metro area stores have them marked down.

yes! find a lawn care facebook group in your area with same type grass going through the same weather and pest experiences as you.

eg: i am in Atlanta and have bermuda. this past year the "ATL Bermuda Lawn Dominators" was full of army worm posts (signs of army worm damage, how to treat and recover). and then people reminding people when to put down fall/winter pre-emergent. and sharing cultural practices as well as reputable local chem sprayers, irrigation installers, etc.

I had a bag of Scott's starter that had been in my shed for about 5 years . It was a small bag, I think it covered about 2k square feet. I brought it from my old house when I moved . I had a small yard , now I have 2 acres. That's why it just sat there as I started buy bags more appropriate for my yard.

This year I did a lawn Renovation behind my garage, used the small bag of Scott's starter and it was def still good as the mesotrione still turned unwanted weeds white and some of my new seedlings started with a whitish tint . It wasn't an important area or seen by anyone so that's why I gave it a shot and surprised it was still viable. I did that before I made my purchase and figured if that stayed good in the shed for 5 years my current purchase will last in my garage

water makes the slow release granules release the chemicals. so dry is good!

I bought a bunch of broken bags for $10/bag a few months back and made sure to use them up this season.

end of season discounts is great! load up for next season or 3!
