Current situation: I am on a T-mo SC-NA grandfathered plan with 12 lines + T-mo HI 5G line. T-mo does not have any promos for device upgrade unless I move to the Go5G plan (way more expensive) than the monthly price I pay for the lines. Current monthly cost ~$256. No EIP, all devices paid for.

Happened to walk by Costco AT&T booth here in the Bay Area and they seem to be wooing T-mo customers with a too good to be true offer... Here's the deal...

1. Tradein my all my devices iPhone 12, 12 pros, 12 mini, 13 pro max, 14, 14 pro maxs, 15, Pixel 8, Samsung A32s and all devices will be upgraded to 16 pros, 16 pro maxs, pixel pro and A32s to Samsung S24 FEs.
2. $100 Costco GC for each line I bring over from T-mo ($1200)
3. $200 Costco GC for AT&T fiber internet connection

Monthly AT&T cost (all in) is $313 for all lines and AT&T 300/300 fiber connection. Once devices are paid for (3 yrs), monthly cost will be $309. For $60/ month more, it seems like a deal worth jumping into. See screenshot attached. Thoughts?

You could just buy a phone outright...most times google and Samsung have great trade in deals...no need for phone provider "deals" to lock you in for years...i have a tmo phone plan from 17 years ago ...5 unlimited 5G lines, 2 unlimited 5G tablet lines, a watch line, home Internet and only paying about $155 per month. If I need a new phone, just buy directly from manufacturer...I don't need TMO or ATT to "give" me a deal

After way too many years selling phones in stores. Yes this price is probably too good to be true. Taxes and fees will be another $50 over the quote. These prices usually slide upwards as time passes. In 24 months if you decide to finance phones again you will unlikely qualify for promos. This will be a $500+ bill before after upgrading 3-4 lines whenever that ends up being.

Only advice I'd really give if you're gonna go with this promo is to see what it costs to go from s24 FE to S24 or better so it'll last longer without needing an upgrade.

Att has a 10 line limit per group. How are they doing this ?

Trade ins can also screw you over. One trade in or two that don't go as planned and you lost.

No activation fees ?

Also you can't upgrade for three years without losing bill credits.

3 year contract on the phone what about on the fiber?

These guys only seem to want to lure you in, once you're with them then the problems arise and you might be paying more than what they told you and you end up dealing with a big headache.

This is similar to what Tmobile was offering to switch from ATT. I switched from slow ATT and never looked back.

I don't trust the Costco reps, I got hosed with T-Mobile migration and spent countless hours on the phone

They had a similar spiel to what was offered at a T-Mobile store, but at the end, I realize both of them are just trying to make the sale, and don't actually know anything. Only until it's not working and you're on the phone with a rep they actually have the fine print and actually what is possible and not possible .

Based on my experience with AT&T

While only 10 lines per group, you can have multiple groups on an account. Have to be careful how they split the groups, and only the first group gets discounts such as the teacher discount.

You can pay off a phone or upgrade the phone, as long as you have started to receive the bill credits, you will continue to receive them.

This! Ppl are really clueless on these phone deals, the carriers new way of locking in contracts is via the phone deals.

yes, the Costco ATT deals are accurate, and you can verify the promotion online.
