I think the old version veritical form factor with the handle on top is better than this new one
Also I don't like the recent reviews which are stating customers are running into issues where it reads a high pressure too quickly and shuts off, but then moments later the pressure will settle back down to what it really is at. (ie it goes to 20 really quick, but then moments later reads 17). Examples:
Just bad from top to bottom
I can't STAND this inflator. I have a previous model with right angle clamp-to-close valve. This new straight on, sleeve connector is infuriating. It doesn't fit as well with many tight spaces and, but unless I do some magic rain dance, the connection LEAKS. It takes several tries to get it on right. The inflator will fill to 20psi, but leave it for a moment and it'll read 17. The nozzles hiding in the battery compartment are really easy to miss.

Version Before This One Was Better
I have had 3 versions of this air inflator/deflator and this one is the worst due to the air chuck on the end. It is very difficult to get to stay on the nipple of the tire you are trying to inflate. Also, the adapter for blowing up basketballs and other products needing a needle to pump them up wont work with this air chuck. The version before this had a screw on air chuck and it was superior in every way to this version.

Poor quality connector
The quick connect connector on the inflator works very poorly. By the time I get it properly connected to the tire, the tire is deflated considerably. I didn't know it had this type of connector which is a cheap plastic connector. I have other products with this type of connector, but have never had one this difficult to connect. Definitely would not recommend this item!! I have the pistol grip style inflator made by Ryobi and wanted another one, but it is no longer available.
It shows wrong psi when using high pressure hose. And there is literally no showing of psi when you use the high volume hose and it is so weak that it can't even fully inflate my pvc boat which requires only 3.5 psi! Totally unexpected.

Not as good as the previous model
I purchased this inflator today and was excited to try it out. I own the previous model and the one before that. I really like the high pressure connector because it's quick and doesn't need to be screwed on. I really dislike how when you inflate a tire the it stops too soon. For example, I have a bike tire I want at 20psi. The inflator fills it to what it says is 20psi, and then shuts off. If you wait about 10 seconds after that the pressure on the display drops down 3psi lower. by
Was thinking maybe of buying the new version to give it a try (can't hurt to have another inflator).
We will be passing on this

Assuming this functions similarly…
Maybe...
this one seems bulkier
however, with either, the inflator piece for tubes/pool stuff is the worst. that plastic little piece at the end always ends up bending and becoming distorted - thus unable to push the valves on many toys
they really need to make that piece with a metal tip or something to push w/o getting distorder
I agree, i have the older model and it is a workhorse.
just finished carrying it in my trunk b/c my rim was cracked and leaking and i needed to keep inflating the tire until a new rim came....
i use it ever year for pool toys, both inflating an deflating
dont know if this newer model is as good or not though
Maybe...
