Also, budget racers can use scanners to create models of their vehicles for easy CFD modeling for aerodynamics testing without the expense of renting a real wind tunnel.

Are any of these lower priced units ever worth it?
I tried a local makerspace, but they don't have one.

Is there a favorite enthusiast group to help select a scanner?
I'm convinced that most of the people complaining about these online are either idiots who can't follow basic directions or are trying to run the software on a potato instead of a computer that meets minimum requirements (which can be quite high for a 3d scanner)

If you print it directly, it's just like a 3D model from any other source, so it works with any slicer software, can be a resin or filament printer of any brand.
