Do you tip your Amazon drivers or your mailman/person?

The tipping culture is out of control in the U.S.

Businesses (should) pay their employees and staff fair wages and health insurance, and the consumer should pay for the products. It's just that simple.

I shop and deliver for Walmart. They have created algorithms to give drivers a certain amount regardless of the tip amount. An order with no tip Walmart will pay $11 and if you add a $7 tip, the driver gets the same $11 but now it's broken into Walmart Pays $4 and customer tip $7.

They're using the tips to underpay the drivers and make bigger profits !

Will this deal stack with the $49 off $98 AMEX deal if I activate WM+ on 2 accounts?

I am curious about the included Paramount+ Essential membership. I assume this means ad-supported. Does anyone know if it possible to upgrade to no ads?

No it wouldn't work. The Amex offer mention "single purchase".

It's a very expensive form of last mile logistics that can have items delivered for you same day. The recommended tip is $4. It's hugely time-saving to pay $4, get what you need same day, and not have to go to the store. Also, I believe you can pay $50/year for their "In Home" delivery and then you DON'T tip for delivery. Use it once a month to break even.
Is it not just as time-saving to pay $0, get what you need same day, and not have to go to the store?

If you're getting paid hourly, you don't need a tip. It's meant for exceptional service anyway, not simply doing your job that you signed up for.

This is how I expect grocery delivery to work and is why I've never had groceries delivered. I'll just go to the store and pick out the items I want. I'm sure the employees are told to select the items that people shopping in the store wouldn't pick. Most of my food comes from the meat and produce section, and the expiration dates and quality of the item varies. If an item is missing when I get home, then it's my fault. Smilie
I will agree we have definitely had order errors. It really just depends on the caliber of employees working at your closest Walmart. You'll get a good sense when you walk in

This is a good deal but I didn't renew my Walmart+ in the Spring because nearly every grocery delivery had missing/spoiled items and I had to do a refund. It happened so often that my account was flagged and I had to go through a customer service rep for a missing item.

I renewed just for a month a couple weeks to go to see if things have improved. Have done two grocery orders and both had multiple items missing and one had multiple spoiled items. On the one from the other day, the customer service representative said No Problem and processed the refund for the missing item. The next morning I received an email saying the refund team denied my refund because the picture shows all items were delivered. This is absurd because the picture just shows a bunch of grocery bags from 12 feet away in my porch. Eventually a customer service representative said that it was a mistake but he wasn't able to process a refund, but would give me a $5 off promo code instead.

I've also had a problem with orders that are supposed to be shipped saying "delayed," then just not being filled ever.

That being said, it's totally YMMV because my parents use Walmart+ and don't ever have issues.
I've had the same issue with Walmart+. And I agree it might be location specific. I moved to a Dallas suburb a few months back, from upstate New York. We didn't have major issues with Walmart+ at my previous location. But at my new location every single Walmart+ delivery has been bad. We had to throw out half a bag of tangerines once. Bananas are always over-ripe, and they pick the worst possible bag of apples with multiple ones rotting. And our last order had croissants expiring the same day. I'm sure now the store is going out of their way to pick the worst produce to get rid of expiring stock via delivery orders. Granted it was never perfect at the previous place, but nothing as egregious as the current location.

They reached out for a review since I had just signed up for in-home trial. I wrote a bad review and they said they've sent my comments to the store. But I don't expect it to improve. I have a few days before my membership renews and the in-home trial ends. Still considering whether to keep it. It's still useful for packaged goods and stuff. My new place has in-home option, which wasn't there at my old place, and for $40 extra it's nice to have. I usually tip $5, so 8 deliveries a year will cover it. But not being able to order fruits and vegetables is a major problem. And the fact in-home service has only regular working hours for delivery.

This deal is an actual promo. That email was sent bc I think what you did was a bit of a system error.. it allowed too many people a 50% discount after they clicked thru to cancel. Walmart's email was essentially saying you weren't supposed to get this renewal price, but we will give it to you anyways

Same. I have to assume all this tipping discussion pertains to grocery deliveries, which I don't order. Products, on the other hand, are delivered quickly and without interaction with delivery drivers, just like any other online order.
It's not just grocery orders. Basically there are two options for getting products, 'shipping' and 'delivery.' You can order online and get it shipped to your house like any other online order or you can order products delivered to you from your local store. Usually people utilize 'delivery' for grocery orders but you can use it to get anything from your local store delivered same day as opposed to waiting a day or two via 'shipping.'

I tip the flight attendants 20% every time they bring me food or water. And 25% if they just walk by and say "how are we doing here" or something like that.

My Amex has $49 cash back when purchasing $98 Walmart + membership. Can it stack with this promotion to make it free?

Many of the shipping orders also get delivered using the "delivery" channel. So whatever Walmart pays for those deliveries should be paid to the grocery orders too so that tips aren't expected and are what tips were originally meant to be - something extra to appreciate excellent service.
