I once ordered through Amazon for a deal on Cesar dog food from a Slickdeals post. Comparable savings, but honestly the individual serving containers looked the same as normal, but it was shipped in a plain cardboard box instead of a Cesar box. I thought the consistency looked a bit off feeding my dogs. Just ran out of that order and opened a "normal" box from Chewy. Definitely different consistency. My thought is maybe the Amazon sale was a known lesser quality batch from Cesar? Not packaged so it could be purchased on a shelf in any physical store.
Never had this problem with Chewy and I order a lot.
I guess my point is - don't order random Amazon sales and expect the same quality. I feel like you're better off with Chewy by a long shot.

I've eaten food from both vendors and could not tell the difference.
However, Chewy boxes are far more luxurious to loaf in than Amazon boxes.
Both Amazon and chewy have raised the price $13 a bag during this event so it cancels out any savings. Wonder if it was the supplier (small brand) trying to cash in on the sale as their own website still has it listed at normal price.
Pet Supplies Plus keeps sending me 30% off coupons though, so I guess I'll buy from them. I don't know how I got on their offer list.
