FWIW, the vac is great when it works. We ended up having to remove the battery (this one has the screwed-in battery, so kinda a pain) and charge the battery off the unit. I'm sending it in for the 3rd time today in fact as the battery no longer charges even when removed. Hopefully they'll replace the body as there seems to be some sort of parasitic drain that's killing batteries.
If this latest fix doesn't work, I'll probably just get one of the Dewalt battery adapters and see if that at least helps resolve the inconvenience of having to remove the batteries to charge when it's fully dead.
