Even though HD is calling this "heavy duty" in their title, this is the regular duty 21 gauge steel. The red one appears to be 18 gauge though. 21 gauge on something this large seems a bit of a stretch.

But i can vouch for Home Depot's heavy duty husky items. They are solid.

IMO it's standard duty, especially when comparing the 2 versions at the product page. When I created this post, I specifically tool "Heavy Duty" out of the deal title for that reason. Glad you noticed the same.

So is this a no go because it's 21 gauge steel? I'm not a 'master mechanic', would I really notice the difference for general home use, occasionally wrenching on the jalopy etc? Is the concern primarily that it will flex etc?

Kind of interesting. The title says heavy duty, but when you get down to the specs, it says standard duty kind of misleading. But when you click on the image and scroll down to like the details, it says 3000 pound heavy duty caster wheels. I don't even know what to make of it.

OK, I did some more research on comparable Husky workbenches and carts also sold by Home Depot. It appears they label their 18 and 19-gauge steel as "heavy duty" while the 21-gauge is "standard duty".

So this unit should be considered standard duty, and I'll update the title.

They don't sell anything even remotely close to this.

US general series 3 anyway at least the drawers are not nearly as deep as this husky. I think the US general is 22" deep vs 24" of this and it makes a big difference on tool storage and stability when multiple drawers are open. The only thing I find this husky being a bummer is I don't see a hutch available for it.
