From MSFT Copilot:
The Western Digital Black and Western Digital Gold HDDs are designed for different purposes and have distinct features:
Western Digital Black
Performance: Optimized for high performance, making it ideal for gaming, content creation, and demanding applications.
Speed: Typically offers 7200 RPM and a higher cache (up to 128 MB), which enhances read/write speeds.
Usage: Best suited for desktop computers where speed and performance are critical.
Reliability: Designed for reliability but not as robust as the Gold series for continuous, heavy-duty use1

.
Western Digital Gold
Performance: Built for enterprise environments, offering high reliability and durability.
Speed: Also offers 7200 RPM but with a larger cache (up to 256 MB) and higher sustained transfer speeds.
Usage: Ideal for data centers, servers, and RAID configurations where 24/7 operation and high workloads are common.
Reliability: Can handle up to 550 TB of data per year, making it suitable for continuous, heavy-duty use1

In summary, if you need a hard drive for gaming or high-performance desktop use, the WD Black is a great choice. For enterprise-level reliability and heavy workloads, the WD Gold is the better option.

Not the best deal for $/tb but these are great drives.
The "normal" deal for shucking an Easystore from BB is $200/14tb. These Golds run faster and have a longer warranty than the easystores.
unless you are comparing to refurb drives and that's a different story.
Not to mention the 5 year warranty for Golds vs 3 years for Red Pluses
Do I need to put in some promo code ?
Thanks in advance

I guess I need to select the "Clearance" section.
Do you know what's the difference between the 2 version ?
