This is a good price for two 5Ah batteries HOWEVER, I'm not very confident that I would receive genuine DeWalt batteries from Amazon.
*I am basing my opinion solely on what I have read, I have no personal experience receiving counterfeit batteries. I have always purchased my batteries from reputable retailers such as Lowes or Home Depot or as parts of kits.
Great price! But I would not trust Amazon on these batteries. The risk reward is not there knowing Amazon sells a LOT of fake stuff. Even down to cheap facial cream products.

I second this, I have personally received a knockoff DeWalt battery from Amazon. It was a very convincing knockoff with a slightly off yellow difference in color. It began to not hold a charge and Amazon acknowledged it was from a vendor that was identified to be selling non-genuine goods. They refunded the full purchase price and asked me to dispose of the battery. Not saying every DeWalt battery from Amazon is a knockoff, but I strongly suggest looking into the vendor before purchase.
Do you think the Shipped and Sold from Amazon would have a better chance of being genuine DeWalt?
I can see with the Shipped by Amazon sold by X would be riskier.
Also, if you could validate they were not genuine, it should be an easy return, correct?
I need some new 5ah batteries for an upcoming project is why I'm asking. Thanks
These ones at least say shipped and SOLD by Amazon. Usually have pretty good luck with the stuff being sold by Amazon as being genuine vs when it's a third party seller. Just my 2 cents. Great deal OP in for a pack.
Even a "legitimate" battery from Amazon comes with a concern for me. I got almost 5 year old batteries the one and only time I ordered through Amazon. Sent them right back

No. Anyone can sell merchandise to Amazon claiming it's genuine. Amazon commingles merchandise from numerous vendors.
The large B&M stores use to test merchandise for safety and reliability. Amazon doesn't test anything. Their 30 day exchange/refund is only good if you discover the problems in the first 30 days. That won't happen with rechargeable batteries.

Yes. Amazon is an authorized DeWalt dealer. If they (meaning sold by Amazon, not third-party vendors) sold counterfeit DeWalt goods, they would loose that status pretty fast!
On the other hand, anything from a third-party vendor that is not an authorized dealer, I would assume it would be counterfeit.

No! This is actually worse in some cases. Amazon know of the problem. When shipped and sold by them, you, me, anyone sends "our item" to them. They put them all together. Then pull from the pile when one is ordered. May get real. Make get knock offs.
