12" depth on these shelves would make it great for a small storage space you just need a place to put small objects like cans of spray paint or cleaners, but you won't be able to fit totes on it unless they are smaller and you want to put one per shelf with the 27" width. Definitely a niche use case shelf but cool to see a sale on shelving with unique dimensions.

12" is very shallow depth.

If you intend to put this in a garage and live where there's significant temp and humidity fluctuations you'll have some saggy shelves after a while due to the MDF absorbing moisture.

What's wrong with it? Do you have these exact shelves? I am looking for cheap shelves for the basement and the price on these are very attractive.

I got two similar ones (larger but the same shelves) 5 years ago. One is in my basement and the other is in my garage. I have not had any noticeable warping or sagging of the shelves.

This is too shallow. It'll not hold most storage bins. Good for only cans and spray cleaners.

not a fan of these at all. they are very small
  • (12" deep) whereas most other shelving units are 18-24" deep.
  • (27" wide) whereas most shelving units are 36-48" wide.
  • the particle board is super thin and easily bends

I got one of those smaller units and several of these larger units to fit my space for $52.43 each: https://www.ebay.com/itm/315745859302. The price per sqft is similar but the 16x36x72 are more versatile. I found a listing for the NAIZEA brand on Walmart and it had good reviews.
