It's $40 and makes waffles similar to the huge industrial ones motels use.
Don't drop it on the floor, and you'll be alright.

The fact is that small appliance engineering has long since peaked. The focus of companies have shifted to reducing costs and marketing. There are tons of no-brand flip waffle makers on Amazon for $40 (many of them double sided). And trust me, their quality is no better or worse than this waffle maker. End of the day, it's basically a heating element with a thermostat based cut-off under some non-stick plates.
The point is, if you don't need a waffle maker immediately don't get tempted by this price. You can get a flip waffle maker for $40 all day any day; which are every bit as good (or bad) as this waffle maker; as long as you are not hung up on the branding.
Grasshopper, that's not a pro tip if you're serious about waffles.
