So i'd say no...
It also says: To Earn Bonus: To earn a $400 bonus, open your first new personal checking account between 10/24/2024 and 12/31/2024 and have at least one single direct deposit of $1000 or more post to your new checking account within 60 days of account opening.
I would read that as: two $500 deposits will not count as a $1000 deposit.
Finally, the statement: Your new account must have a balance greater than zero and remain open and active through the payout date stated in the table below to qualify for this offer.
What qualifies as an "active through the payout date" account is subjective.
I have been a Citizens customer for over almost 30 years. They are somewhat OK, nothing at all special. Their online app sucks, crashes all the time and very slow. They used to nickel-and-dime you around anything and everything they can, especially overdraft fees. Their Savings and CD rates are never competitive (and neither are Chase's). They have an online only division which provides a more competitive rates, but you don't need Citizens for it.
As I have a brand new Chase branch opening right across from Citizens, I am planning to move my business to Chase and collect a $900 bonus from them that I got in snail mail.
