touching a spot along the edge of the door just releases it, otherwise the seal keeps it tight and you need to pull a harder to open it.

Bought a Samsung Bespoke fridge from Costco not too long ago. Had very good reviews (overall). So far I'm very happy with it and it seems they fixed/resolved the main issues some of their fridges had.

Same.
Student, First Responder or Corporate discount required for that price.

Looks like only certain models may qualify based on their offer page. I may have missed it on this model but it looks like some models qualify for the 25% off, free second set of panels and 2 years of Samsung care for a $1.

"Including an exclusive, extra 25% off. Plus, get a second set of panels on us¢ and 2 years of Samsung Care+ for $1 Original Price$169.99.£ Now $3,150 Original Price$4,999."

I just bought this fridge from Costco a few weeks back. 29" full depth in Stainless. Got it for ~$1700 OTD with an additional set of panels given via a promo code to Samsung.com, and 3yr warranty. So far so good and the Wife loves the additional panels as she applies vinyl to them.

Everybody has their own tolerance, but I will not buy another Samsung product, ever.
We bought their top end model in 2018(the one with 4 doors and the assignable bottom left compartment), and we were generally happy. It was the perfect setup for us, tiny freezer, lots of fridgerator.
HOWEVER, the ice machine always froze up. Every 2-3 months it would freeze up and require breaking out the ice pick and hair dryer to melt the ice before it would work again.
Finally got sick of it so we called it in, out of warranty, and they replaced the ice maker free of charge. I thought "wow. what a stand up company!". Problem wasn't really fixed, though. Still happened.
We dealt with it for a couple of years, then called it in to get it replaced. And they did. But when they did, they broke the fridge. It stopped cooling entirely. We woke up the next morning to a warm fridge. It ruined about $700 worth of groceries and medication.
And Samsung and their repair facility, NISIUSA, claimed they were not responsible at all. They kept wanting to charge me to come and even diagnose the problem, blaming the 'freezing up' or pointing to some incorrect notes the technician made about it not working when he got there. Round and round we went for weeks. They graciously offered to sell me a new fridge at "half price" (which was the same price as on their front page).
Eventually I gave up and went and bought a new fridge and threw their old one away. I considered suing them, but honestly I just wanted to be done with them.
So, I will never. ever. buy another Samsung product. Not a TV. Not a washing machine. Not a fridge. Not a phone. Ever.
fark them.

Had this for 6+ months now. My comments:
  1. Beautiful practical design ..for the most part. BUT, the ice maker while initially wow'd is a PITA. People drop cubes under the tray all the time if not careful.
  2. Samsung Smarthings connectivity is good...when it works. Notices when doors left open. But, I didn't get any alert for the filter needing to be changed. The connectivity seems spotty/inconsistent.
  3. The beverage center is fantastic. 2 forms of fluid. People tend to use the carafe mostly.
  4. Lighting and shelving structure is quite good.
  5. One word of warning and related to the ice machine/freezer. DO NOT LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN LONGER THAN ~5 MINUTES. 2 reasons: The ice maker will freeze up. And, get this...the technician will pull telemetry data if a service call needed. You will be charged on any 2nd visit and it is found you are abusing door open. To me, this is a BAD design. The housing for the ice maker is totally exposed.
Overall, we still like this fridge. Far better than the lousy Sammy one with the ice maker in the door which leaked all the time.

That price is a huge deal . Was it recent or a certain sale price with your epp/edu discounts .
Was only able to get the 3 door for 800 without panels last month and just cancelled the order before delivery date to go with a 4 door model .

You should probably buy a lottery ticket cause you're apparently very lucky
