We had the one where you provide the suction with your mouth and I think it worked fine. We only had to use it a few times.

If your baby is sick, using the mouth suction type may spread the illness. But you already hang with the baby all day so you'll still get sick...

My kiddo accepts this way better than the other types. The lights and music are surprisingly effective at distraction.
The straw sucking version is so nasty, I can't deal with it. Kids really hate it too.
Cleaning this is gross af though. But almost everything about kids is.

I have this and the nosefrida (the mouth sucker one)...the electronic ones are useless compared to the mouth ones....and more expensive in most cases. I know its gross to think about sucking with your mouth on their snot, but after using it dozens of times I've never had an "accident" in any way.
