Unless you have a socket storage system, I highly recommend you buy socket sets with a built-in storage box or you will end up with headaches trying to organize all the sockets.

I just organized mine from the last time the 211 6 points discounted and it wasn't too expensive or difficult. Just got a magnetic holder bundle for the most popular sockets and then put the extras on some of the Menards socket rails.
The benefit of this for me at least was to hopefully not ever be wanting for sockets, I know I have almost any socket I'll ever need as a homeowner.
Those kits that are for sale either are not complete sets so not comparable or if they are complete sets the price is definitely not coming at $150.
70 cents a sockets is hard to beat especially for bigger sockets and the 1/2" drive sets. Very complete set without the hex keys and BS fillers straight sockets will cover 99.9% of your needs.
If you don't know which set to get buy the 211pcs 6 point set.
I wonder when you have to replace a broken socket, if you have to bring the whole set back?
No, you don't
edit: I was wrong. kobalt over the phone support and store process to resolve wrong socket was a mess. Don't buy Kobalt if you want easy warranty help.

You can also buy individual sockets on Amazon for $2-3, even though they cost a little over 70 cents each in this set, it's hardly worth the effort to return a single one. I've lost a few sockets and just bought more.

Wish that was true, I end up paying $5-$10 on the low end depending on brand , size, and type. Usually I go with Tekton as for price and ease of warranty.
Good luck with Lowe's, they will give you a run around to deny the "hassle free" warranty. Some of the tricks they play are: must bring back whole set, call 800 number, must be the same exact item (even though they changed the deisgn or manufacture). say they are unathorized to exchange, m ust come back.....
Amazing deal. Just got mine. And I finally feel complete after buying soooo many different sets and getting redundancy. This finally ends the search for the elusive 20mm socket. From 4mm All the way to 36mm. Really a good deal.

You're right, just found out I had one socket missing and one double and kobalt phone support said they can't ship out replacement and have to go to store. Store told me I have to return and exchange whole kit for replacement. Complete and utter bs, just to replace a cheap socket.
I'm returning my kit and a few other Kobalt items from the last couple months, I don't want to deal with the unreasonable warranty process ever.
