I wouldn't touch these unless it was Apple iTunes.
If they ever upgrade the others to 4k, you will be stuck with 1080p.

On Fandango/Vudu. the og film is 4k UHD. The rest are 1080p. On The same collection does show as $19.99 on iTunes, same setup.

Only 3, maybe 4, of the series are really worthwhile, but $20 isn't bad.

Unless Apple change their policy, most likely you will. I had HD movies I've purchased directly in iTunes automatically upgraded to 4K when the time came. Just be aware that's only in iTunes/AppleTV. For Movies Anywhere titles (like these) the resultant 4K upgrade does not apply to all the other services (ie MA, Vudu, GooglePlay, etc). They will remain in HD.

Good deal. Will probably pick up since I have none of them. Had to get refund thru vudu as the first movies showed up as owning HDX, not 4k. will go through fanflix

When you say "on fandango/vudu" do you mean you purchased it directly from fandango, or you bought it from fanflix and redeemed it on fandango?

The fanflix deal explicitly says you get the first movie in 4k, while the bundle offered directly on fandango says it's all HD.

I would prefer to buy directly from fandango because I have a gift card, but I'm hoping someone can confirm if you get the first in 4k when purchased directly.

That answered my question.
On vudu the bundle explicitly says HD, and so far I've never heard of a HD bundle on vudu including a 4k title, but there *ARE* fanflix bundles that include a mix of 4k and HD movies.
Looks like if you want the first movie in 4k you need to buy directly from fanflix

There is very little chance the rest of the movies will ever be upgraded to 4K.
