I bought it for around $350 during last year BF from BJs. Both the units had ghosting around edges. Their support is a bit slow to respond but they replaced both the TVs and the replacements are a lot better in quality (probably a different SKU). I would suggest that you pay a visit to a Bestbuy that has it and see the TV in action before buying it as it's huge in size to move around or return if you don't like it later.
If you buy a Hisense get the extended warranty. I can't deny the value for money on these things but I see them die frequently because something goes wrong with the cheap parts on motherboard, usually the storage chip.

If you want it to last I recommend never connecting it to your network and using it as a dumb TV as much as possible, and watching video via a chrome cast/firestick/roku/etc.

I'm genuinely curious how connecting it to network would reduce lifespan.
I guess it's because of the system update. Just like iPhones, the IOS update will slow down the OS.

Debating on BB or Costco version. BB return period is 14 days and Costco is 30 for unopened in the event something better comes long in the next few weeks for the sales this month.

Thanks OP, in 4 the Costco version with ext warranty.

Will be using as our (what used to be when the kids were here) playroom TV which rarely gets used so if under normal use this TV lasts 4 years then it should last 10+ years for our needs and at $450 that's a steal!

Isn't the Costco a TCL?

If they do have Hisense, ignore this. But I am curious how this compares to the $499 TCL from last weekend.
The link I was quoting was about Hisense.

Rtings.com seems to rate these low level Hisense and TCL qleds about the same. Trade-offs for each. What interests me is reflection/glare handling. Hisense is better in that.

I have a 2018 65" TCL Series 6. After almost 6 years, it still looks and works like brand new. Very satisfied but it could be better with screen reflections/glare.

But I'm also .looking for a Google tv as I already have 3 FireTv devices.

You bought a 2024 model in 2023? Awesome. Let us know if you can find a 2025 or 2026 before this year ends.

It's not that the network connection reduces the lifespan, it's that it'll automatically update when you do, and these things do not perform better as they're updated. The last two I kept on life support I had to downgrade the firmware so they wouldn't heat up as much even when not having their smart features used.

I second this. I bought 2 Hisense Google TVs back in 2020 and both started experiencing memory issues 2 years later. One died on me completely last year.

Hisense TV all suffer from storage corruption issues. If you connect the TV to a network and use all the smart features and apps you eventually start getting "Storage Full" error messages (even if the storage is 50% free) and makes the TV unusable. Then the only option is to factory reset the TV. I had to do it 3 times before I gave up and bought a Onn Streaming box instead.

So will the warranty be 4 years if I buy with Costco? If my credit card has extra year of warranty, will it be 3 years costco warranty + 1 year credit card warranty = 4 years?
