And I remember people dumping their 2080 for like 300 bucks before 3080 released. Good times

Bought a 4070 Super for $375, new and it works great. I even managed to get it working with a prebuilt system's 400 watt power supply via software undervolting/underclocking and only using bare minimum components. I had to literally rip the little mini tower apart in multiple ways in order to fit this large graphics card.

Learned a new secret to get amazing deals. Manager's discretion is a wonderful thing!

HINT: My text and quote text contains specific "secret sauce."

I was lucky enough to get a 3070 for 100 bucks from a guy who wanted to upgrade and for now it's enough for me.
Impressive deal! I considered the same card as it's one of the best performers for the price.

Damn, I wish it was at least 16Gb, ideally 24. 12Gb is totally not helpful for Stable Diffusion etc...

What is the cost of not having enough vram? Is it just slow? Poor results or fails to work at all?

I didn't ask you? I'm just playing, but how much energy did it cost to make it back?

If your main use case is SD, you might as well just get Mac mini for the video ram

Same but mine died on me last year and after 3 failed RMA attempts from MSI they upgraded me to a 4080. All in all I think I paid fair value for it in the end.

Last time I tried it on my 10GB 3070, it was just crashing after a while. I assume the model data requires some minimum amount of RAM to just work.

Anybody looking to use this for an LLM? If so, is there much difference between this and 3060 12gb for that use case?
I wouldn't use these to run LLMs. There are lots of cloud platforms more powerful and affordable for this

is this good enough for 4k gaming? Is there a diff between 3 fans and 2 fans?
Probably 4K, with no or low ray tracing. 3 fans run cooler and quieter, but depending on your pc, a twin fan might be the only fit.
I have an SFF pc build, max gpu length it allows is 330mm which fits a lot of 3 fan cards but not all of them.
