I know we have this argument here every year but if you add some yellow into the default "white" you will get something that closely resembles white incandescent with no blue. Not good enough to mix in with clear incandescent but without a close comparison it's good enough. I've got around a dozen twinkly strings and I don't go out of my way for rgbw.

RGB+W can produce a pure or natural white light because it has a separate white. RGB will get a type of white (usually has some blue tint in it) by mixing red/green/blue but it isn't true white.

RGB not RGB+W just incase anyone was wondering.

What is rgb-w ?
Red Green Blue + White
your standard rgb led arrary plus a deditcated white led
rgb does not do a good job at producing pure white, its more a a blueish tint than actual white, thus the white led was added

Not a huge issue if you are not after accurate white color, just something to keep in mind

Wrong. You can tune the white to any hues of white with RGB. Why do I know? I have about 10 of the 600 RGB strings.
I'm old enough to remember when printers didn't used to have black, and we were told that is "close enough".

Spoiler alert, it wasn't. And "white" without the dedicated white is not the same.

I bought 3 sets of the 600 Gen 2 RGB+W last year for outdoor use. I paid about $170 for each set. IMO, they're a bit overrated. Connectivity is kinda flaky with the app showing them offline randomly. All 3 sets also suffered some sort of failure where the plastic split open at a random LED, requiring me to cut out the bad LED and splice the line together to get the set to operate again. I did get one set replaced under warranty, but the other 2 were outside the warranty period. I told myself I wouldn't get any more.

That said, I think this deal is a good deal even with the issues I've had. It's a higher LED length count for lower price, but the key is they're from Costco. If there are any issues, Costco's return policy is as good a safety net as there is.

Be aware that this is not one continuous string of lights. You will get 2 strings of 375 lights that join together at a switch.

So each of those strands are about 100 feet?

The white on RGB doesn't do 2700k warm white hue that is available only on the +W. Might not matter if you are only using Twinkly, but maybe not if you are mixing in white incandescent lights.
I was replying to the person saying their RGB do any hue of white
That person does not know how rgb, led and light works in general

That's not true, have 5 strings and a curtain light installed right now. You can't get a true warm white glow like you can with the +W model. I have both sets and I can assure you it isn't as good.
I have both RGB and +W and putting them side by side the +W does a much better warmer white, enough of a difference that the RGB are now used at my daughter's house.

I agree this is a crappy product for the price. I had a brand new set that I spent a total of 6600 bucks on that was flickering off and on immediately.I asked for replacement and was told to find where it broke and tape it back together. after spending $600 for my tree I am still pissed off. Garbageproduct and CS. $5 China LEDS are better quality.

It's one string in that you control it as one string but it is split as they say, at the switch. I did not find this to be an issue myself though.

If it's like my 600 rgbw, then what they are saying is that the plug is in the middle. So it's plug, controller, then 2 strings of lights. Like a "Y" shape.
