Consumer reports in 2012 says these were the worst bags tested. I guess that was 12 years ago though. I didn't find anything newer.

Less than the current price at Sam's Club for my area. Although, I think I've gotten them on sale in the past.

Interesting. Thanks for the article. I've personally never had any issues w/ the bags (no leakages or holes). I use them for general kitchen trash. They seem good enough for my purposes.

Fun fact: Kirkland Signature, and HDX are both made by Poly America in Grand Prairie, Texas. Their house brand is Husky, and they also make generic walmart's great value and sam's club member's mark, along with a few other generic brands. I'm a truck driver for Poly Wink

I've bought several boxes of these via Amazon, and been very pleased. I think they hold up better than Amazon Basics, which my daughter buys. The strings have never ripped out as has happened to me with Glad or Hefty. This style is also Unscented, which I prefer.

My favorite kitchen bag is by Hippo Sak (I've only found them on Amazon) which has never failed on me. However their prices have really escalated over the past few years so I only buy when Amazon offers an incredible deal. They are great, heavy duty bags.

Great data point! But just because it comes from the same factory does not mean it's the exact same product. They could use different plastic mixtures.

Anyway, I think I'll buy some of these bags and find out how good or bad.

I had a box in which one roll (of the 4 in the box) every bag had the top half-sealed shut. Right next to the drawstring. You'll try to peel it apart to open/install the bag and it's just dots of bag melted together. Some I was able to save and use, but about half the roll was unusable.

Since then, I've used the whole box, bought another one, and am halfway through this one without issue.

Money Saving Tip …. buy trashcans that fit the conventional free plastic grocery bags.
