Seems like an amazing deal. Too good to be true. I get nervous on 3rd party refurbished electronics. If MSI had refurb'd this, I'd be much closer to biting given that their brand would be on the line for quality, but not 3rd party. Good find though!

Prycedin is one of the most reputable 3rd party sellers not only on ebay but slickdeals too. They've been posted numerous of times over here.
While maybe not always, certified refurbished usually means manufacturer refurbished.

Also, not directed towards you, but love the unaware people down voting this. Multiple famous reviewers labeled this as a monster of a gaming laptop of its year. The CPU despite being a couple of years old is still very capable and the GPU is only 1.5-2 years old and still very capable being the top of the line of its series.

HX CPU and a 4K screen...probably not the best laptop to buy for endurance. But it has a beefy CPU/GPU for gaming or productivity.

The price, you won't find price this low for 4080 or not yet released 5080. Everyone loves to get the latest stuff too but the price is also steep too. Im temped but I dont need new laptop now, too much work and just dont have time for games anymore.

The new UI design requires matching the 4K screen. The configuration is perfect for working but too expensive. Wait for more discount on BF.

The Acer Predator Helios with RTX 4080 and i9-13900HX has been on sale multiple times for less than this price.

Sure, those were configured with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, but a generation newer CPU and GPU. RAM and storage can be upgraded, CPU and GPU cannot.

Also, the battery will likely be in better condition on a newer laptop.

Would you really buy this laptop over a $1274 Acer Predator Helios refurbished, sold, and shipped by Acer, with the same 2 year warranty included?

Not always.
It depends on specific factors like power limits, cooling, and clock speeds.
In raw performance, the RTX 3080 Ti has more CUDA cores (7,424 vs. the RTX 4070's 5,888) and a wider memory bus (256-bit vs. 192-bit). This theoretically gives the 3080 Ti an edge in certain workloads, especially those that are more GPU-bound.
The 4070 is definitely more power and thermal efficient and has better DLSS3 support.

I'd probably take this over a 4070 laptop. The 8GB VRAM is really limiting.

That said, an Acer Predator Helios laptop with RTX 4080 definitely performs better in games, and has been offered multiple times recently for as low as $1274.
