After doing the $5 sub I didn't see the Skip to Gold under my rewards but it was located on my main page of the Play Store app. Here is a screenshot of what to look for if you can't find it: https://imgur.com/a/iPHD9kR

Once I skipped to gold, the 30% off coupon showed up under Perks when you look at your Play Points by clicking the blue point total on the top of the main page https://imgur.com/a/DKZNsyg

In my case, I didn't even have the ability to earn points activated. If you have points, then you already got it. For me, when I opened the Google Play app and clicked on my profile/menu on the top right, there was a Play Points option that gave me the ability to start earning points. I'd never activated that before.

Yes you can trade-in any phone even if its not registered on your account but make sure you are sending the same phone that you put during the trade-in.
