Actually got this a couple weeks back. Came from a decade old 1080 set, so, here is my brief take.
Overall, huge improvement.
- Blown away by the color, quality, etc.
- The google tv menu is super snappy.
- 55" was a big enough size for the room. I was able to install my mounting hardware and alone with some planning, grabbed it and hooked it onto the wall mounting bracket. The TV seemed sturdy enough, more or less.
- I wasn't paying $1k for a TV. This exceeded expectations.
Cons
-After much playing around with it, I had to max out the motion setting to High. I think it adds black frames into the content (or something), so the result is you go from this amazingly bright color set to a not as bright, muted kind of set. Still looks great but I really wish I could leave the smoothness setting off or on low, its a huge difference in screen brightness. The motion jitter was too distracting during action sequences etc.
-If you have any arthritis in your thumbs, the d-pad on the remote is a little painful to manipulate for long periods of doom scrolling for something to watch. Vastly prefer a softer style remote, this one gives a solid click of feedback. That said, if it wasn't for these thumbs, i'd love the remote.

If you go on the rtings site, apparently there is a big difference in Local dimming zones compared to the 65" (the 65 has a lot more)... I'm not a tv person, it looks just fine to me.
Overall, pleased.

I actually bought one of these for the CEO at my work, and was surprised how good it looked compared to my OLED I have at home in my room. I was looking at getting this for my dad since his old TV died on him.

Good to hear .. My son has a TCL Google TV. Although the picture looks good, the smart functions are just so slow. You have to restart the TV all the time for it to start working again. We ended up just plugging a Roku in and it's 10 times better

What amount of doom scrolling are you doing on a TV just to select your next content to watch?

Better HDR brightness, more dimming zones on the QM7 so more accurate lighting and less blooming.

Hisense has better reflection handling.

I own(ed) both. I bought a 55" QM7 and returned it as I wanted a bigger screen and eventually went with the 75" U75N from Costco for the price (899) and 5 years of warranty.
