I don't think that the majority of people have done anything besides watch the movies. Movies from books is a thing. Lord of the Rings was "spoiled immediately". I've heard that lots of Game of Thrones was also "spoiled". These are extreme cases though since I really don't think that people have read the Thrawn series.
Instead of arguing about movies that have nothing to do with this post, I'll let everybody know this book is pretty good!

I already got this one some months ago at $1.99. Was hoping that the first and third books in the trilogy would be $1.99, also - so I checked, and they're still retail price. Hoping for price drops on them, soon!

Yeah, they did this sale like 3 years ago, and won't budge on the other ones it seems.

I still don't understand why Disney didn't use the Thrawn books for their new trilogy instead of writing the garbage scripts as they were filming.

You don't understand why they didn't use a 30 year old book series which everyone knows the story to that featured the main characters much younger and would have zero plot points that wouldn't be spoiled immediately?

The new Thrawn Ascendancy series started in 2020. Has nothing to do with the books 30 years ago. Maybe you should try...reading... before responding. 😉
May your future be of sunlight and peace.

Maybe you should, since they were referring to the original Thrawn trilogy books in their comment. How would they use books that weren't written in 2020 for a movie trilogy that began in 2017?

No sht Sherlock. Who would be dumb enough to think I was referring to the 1st book of a new series that just started? I was only lamenting what could have been with star wars before Disney hammered the nails into the coffin that Lucas made with the prequels.

Of all the Star Wars books now available, Timothy Zahn started the path and has been consistently one of the top authors. That said... I thought the Thrawn Ascendency trilogy is weaker than his other works. I don't think this trilogy would make a good first foray into the Star Wars book universe. You have to be invested in the Thrawn character beyond that what we've seen in Ashoka to appreciate this trilogy. My two cents.

Absolutely, Timothy Zahn has always been a "purchase the book when I see he wrote it" deal. It honestly seemed like with these he was writing towards the trilogy goal and each book was bloated and poorly paced to accommodate. I think there is a single really good book in there.
