I've used an M1 Air with 256GB for the past 4 years, I don't edit TikTok videos on it, and I don't download movies to it. I think I have like 180gb free. It's not like windows with system directories which keep growing and growing.

So you don't know, the MacBook Air isn't available with an M4 and doesn't start at 16gb. Trash post.

True the M4 isn't available for the air yet but they have changed the newest models minimum to 16gb now when buying directly through Apple. You can't even get 8gb for new ones.

FWIW, ordered a refurbed M2 air with 16/512 from Amazon ($860 w/tax) and they sent an 8/512 instead. Obviously had to return it, no replacements available and I don't get a refund until Nov 15th apparently. Now waiting for the M4 minis (and obviously my refund) but boy am I annoyed.
