Many aren't willing or able to pay for Made in USA instruments. I have an American Taylor 314 only because I bought it at a pawn shop for $700. There's no way otherwise.

These Martin Road Series guitars get very good reviews, and the ones I've tried in the store are certainly contenders at a price point like the OP's.

The best crack I've heard about Fender: "You can buy a Fender made by Mexicans in California or made by Mexicans in Mexico."

Bought a G&L ASAT Classic Tribute series (made in Indonesia) because it's as nice as any MIM Fender I've found. I loved the metallic red color, and here we are.

I have no concern on where something is made as long as it's quality.

I do find it strange that the listing clearly states made is Mexico yet they include 2 videos for factory tours of Nazareth, PA plant?? It feels a bit misleading.

Where's the output jack and controls? The endpin looks plastic, and I don't see any controls anywhere?

EDIT: I see the knobs in the soundhole now, but still don't see the output jack. Is this their new wifi series? (I kid!)

This guitar has a Fishman Sonitone so the output jack and battery compartment are in a separate panel mounted on the side along the lower bout. If you look at the second picture of the back of the guitar, you can barely see it on the lower left edge.

Bought one at my local GC, wanted an acoustic guitar for a while. Nice guitar for the price, but ebony fretboard isn't the best piece of ebony - has some pale patches.

That stuff adds character in my view. Martin has used Richlite for fretboards on some of their lower priced (for them) instruments. It's perfectly black. Smilie

Really, we'll probably be seeing more natural variations going forward just due to CITES and the broad desire to make best use of instrument woods.

Bought one about 7 years ago online. The two pieces that made up the back were joined unevenly so that you could see and feel the 1/16" difference along the entire joint. Couldn't have been any QA.

I also bought that same deal and mine was great, action pretty high but that was easy enough to fix. The sound has really opened up with the solid sapelle. I'm more than happy with my purchase.

Most ebony has patches. Martin stopped dying it.
