Wow this is a great price but Delta Pro 3 got pass through feature (can charge with a small gas generator while outputting AC) which I think would be more useful in an extended power outage.

A decent workaround is to get a AC to DC converter and feed the anker solar input port

The lack of passthrough is a weakness. But the price is really good, plus you don't get locked into EcoFlow's proprietary system. I'm no hater either i own several of them, it's just the facts

Most power stations in this class have no more than 6 or 7 KW output. It's also a good idea because an enormous inverter would greatly increase standby losses. 6 KW for this size is perfect

Are you able to provide an example of or link to a converter that can achieve this? I have been keeping an eye on this system and $2,000 is really the number that I had in mind.

It won't qualify because it's a refurbished unit, and the IRS sees this as used.

Good suggestion on using a 120-240VAC to 12VDC converter to get simultaneous DC charging AC discharging.

You are right I like F3800 form factor and 6000KW output better, but was looking to buy DP3 simply because of pass through, plus a decent upcoming Costco holiday deal, 2 DP3 + power hub for $4500. New too, making it cheaper than 2 F3800 + a power hub.

Would recommend getting the 48v option instead of 12v

$2k is a lot for 3800whr.
If you want to get creative, you can pick up (4) 100ah 12v batteries for ~$150 each, so $600. Wire in series, get a 48v 3000w or 4000w inverter, and any kind of charger of your choice, and be done with it for $1200 or so. Even do your own solar charging.
Is it as elegant as this? no, but you get an extra 1000whr out of it.

There are other ways to get a LOT more battery capacity for less money than this. A pair of 12v 280ah batteries for $700 right now gets you 7kw wired in series, and get a simple 24v battery charger, and 24v inverter of your choice. Again, can still recharge via solar, etc.

That's a lot of money to pay for a convenient package.

It's not the same thing.
One, it's portable. It's heavy as shit but still easily movable.
Two, it has 240v 14-50 outlet built in.
