Good price but note these don't charge a whole lot faster (still faster but not by a ton) than the 15W versions in real world application due to the power being throttled when temp increases based on reviews and posts I've seen.

The Part number listed by the OP is the same Part number that I have MX6X3LL/A which is the new Magsafe charger that can charge 25W. I bought mine from best buy and had the opportunity to compare the boxes of the old magsafe and the new magsafe. The new ones have 2024 copyright while the old ones had 2020 copyright. The model number for the new one is A2580 for the 1 meter. I bought the magsafe with a 35W apple charger MW2H3AM/A Model A2571.

Keep in mind that these seem to be the new 25w version. This is a killer discount for something this new.

Just curious what would advantage of this be over just using the USB-C Cable? Plugged in cable is same length, and it's better for the battery health since it won't generate as much heat. You can still use phone while charging, etc. Just don't see what advantages it confers when there's tons of literature showing that Magsafe in general is slower and not as good for the battery

Maybe random question but is this heavy enough for you to pick up the phone only and disengage the Magsafe connection? Or will you pick up the phone and the charger? (assuming you're not gluing down the charger)

No, it's very lightweight. Magsafe won't detach if you pick up the phone. You will have to slide it sideways to snap off from magnet.

Thanks OP for posting. Just ordered via Best Buy for the 2m length to replace my 15w 1m cord. Price matched and paid with PayPal debit card for 5% CB and free shipping.

Just wished that MagSafe charged my Ultra 2 watch, but oh well.

Less wear on your charging port which can eventually loosen up and not make a consistent connection. Not so fun when you wake up for work and your phone is low. I charge my phone with a magsafe charger when I sleep to reduce wear and because I don't care how fast it charges.

Convenience is another factor. I used to use a magsafe phone mount in my car since it was easier/faster than throwing it into a phone cradle and then plugging in the charging cable. Now I have wireless carplay so I just use the plug.

I have a MagSafe in my car because it's convenient to drop in, but I still end up using my port because MagSafe is so slow at charging, can't keep up with the GPS load. Although I like Apple's attempt to standardize a magnetic charging protocol, I almost always just plug in a cable and know it's charging. Never had a port go bad.

FYI you need at least a 30W adapter to get 25w charging. I know it's obvious, but majority of iPhone users use a 20w brick

And you also need a 16 Plus or Pro Max. Regular 16 and Pro are 22.5w. So if you don't have a one of the big phones, you probably only need a 25w charger.
