haven't kept up with upgrading my pc in years. I need to do an overhaul, probably will keep the case and power supply / ssds only. Is this a good deal?

This CPU is fetching about $300 new, so if you need motherboard and cooler the bundle price is pretty attractive for a high performance upgrade to an existing PC rather than spending the $800+ for a new machine of this spec. As this is one of many options available, I'd shop around a bit to gain some perspective on whether this is the most cost-efficient upgrade path for your needs. Mini PCs have grabbed a big part of desktop market share and driven down the cost of full-size desktops, so there are lots of deals to be had in that space. For comparison, there was a refurb Acer Predator Orion gaming setup with this CPU and RTX 3070 for $744 back in September that went frontpage.

With Black Friday just around the corner, there will likely be some attractive high performance desktop deals posted soon.
