I've only owned one pair of Brooks trail runners and I have to say I'm impressed by their build quality. There are some minor features that really add to its value such as quality braided laces, lace stow straps, velcro strap on the heel loop to allow for attaching devices, lights, etc. and the lugs are long-lasting. I've been a long-time Salomon customer and their shoe quality is worse than Brooks. I don't like how wide the Brooks I have are - I'd rather they be more fitted to my slim foot. That said, worth a try.

Try on the gts series in the models that have, it has a good fit

I'm a long time nike user, but always had back pains, finally decided to try brooks and on at Nordstrom. I immediately fell in love with brooks. So comfortable!!

First time a pair of brooks gave me shin splints. I have multiple pairs of brooks, never had shin splints, this pair caused it. I tested it thoroughly because I'm a runner on road. Not a lot of miles before they seemed wore out.

Never understood the hype about ON.

My elderly neighbors wear those to garden around their house and the 50-60 something's wear them to go grocery shopping. It's like they replaced NB for a daily activity sneaker.

I don't think I've actually seen anyone ever run in a pair of ON.

Can I use these for trail running?
