How is $8000/90 days a high bar? That's $1000 a week take-home for 90 days. That's $35/hr give or take after taxes.
$8,000 in direct deposits over 90 days IS steep. Figure you only have about 2 months to make $8k in direct deposits as you are going to have processing time to create the direct deposit. That means you need $4,000 NET per month to direct deposit and that's after all your deductibles like SS, health insurance, state and fed taxes are taken out.....its a high bar.

$1k/week after taxes AND benefits.

For a lot of us, benefits are huge. I only see about 1/3 of my paycheck, between taxes, 401(k), and insurance. At least I don't pay friend of the court (such a nice name).

My benefits I pay for after taxation. You have it before taxes? 401K is the only other argument to that, which is 6% at a good company, 3% at all the others.

So call it $40/hr then. Still not a high bar unless you work retail. 5 years ago that was decent money. Now? Not really.

First, $40/hr is $80k/year. About the median household income in the USA. So, half of the households are near or under your bar.

Second, 6% of gross pay in the 401k may be what many companies will match, but the IRS lets you contribute $23k per year - $30k if you are over 50. And, if it's a Roth 401k, no tax deduction is included.

I live cheap and max out my 401k contributions, making my paycheck pretty puny.

I mean 23K a year for 401K is...a strategy. I don't know why you would go to the max on a 401K and not an IRA, or pay more than what an employer matches, but you do you, famalam. I'd rather invest that excess of 6% (as I have) in real estate that builds equity and can be passed on.

2023 median income is a touch over 80K. This is $6000 more than 2022. I'd bet lots of dollars that value for 2024 is at least 5% over 2023.

You are right that IRA is better than 401k with no match. I can't put more money there, because I max it out too.

Real estate isn't for me. Don't want the stress of managing tenants, maintenance.... But, it works for others.

The wife's payroll has an open option for DD-I make those go all over the place!
This one has an app tracker. Take them for another spin-on them!
Huntington is the weirdest/most generous-their terms state every 6 months!

My employer's payroll system allows up to 99 accounts for DD.

If I direct my pay into my spouse's account, will that be ok both from employer and bank perspective?

Spouse's is a single name checking account and the last name also doesn't match with mine.

Wow and oof! Not sure on that scenario as thankfully she took my last name and made these offers easy.
Axos is only one who got pissed at me using the wife's payroll to fund my acct. I partly wonder if that was purely to try to limit the bonuses-$500 for 5 months of DDs+.

If you have $8k of cash laying around-it's literally 1.5 weeks and bonus is paid out. Ensure you check out doc link at beginning-I used SoFi and so will the kid and the wife… :-)

Datapoints here can vary.

Some people get bonus within days of the deposits. Some have to wait for the standard which seems to be the 2nd Thursday or Friday 5PM CT of the next month after the month your last qualifying deposit posts for the bonus to show up.

Two options here.

One don't live in Texas or two apply for the online cd or credit card with USBank and then it will give you a relationship with them so you can apply for the banking.
Cool, I posted for a work around. I'll check out CD options.

This is for the rich earning 8k biweekly in direct deposit. But these rich will never bite this as they don't care free $450 from the bank.
There are so many things wrong with this statement

Yeah ok
4%=qualifying balance of $100,000 or more.
Probably way better options for that much cash!
It depends. This applies to their brokerage accounts as well. So open checking savings and CC. Transfer 110k over. Move the $110k into the self directed brokerage account and buy something like VTI and leave like $100 in the checking and savings. Now get 4% back on all CC purchases.

I looked at the list of transfers that worked, but I don't understand, can you explain please when you get a chance. I'm looking for a workaround as I will only be getting $6K in direct deposits in the first 90 days
With Fifth Third bank I did a transfer of funds from my Bank of America account and they counted that as a direct deposit and immediately paid the sign up bonus. Not sure if that would work for US Bank.
